everyday fun

Thought I'd share a couple slices of our life. Here are two little video clips of the kids truly being themselves.

By the way, Sean and I took Fletcher to his preschool open house yesterday. Fletch remains unimpressed and uninterested in attending, as he remained convinced that his school is "haunted" :) I think he'll change his mind after his first week next week. Either way - I'll be sure to post about it!

we walked, because we could

Sean and I and the kids participated in the Omaha ALS walk on Saturday. Thank you to all our friends and family who generously donated money to support the fight against ALS. We were on Pat and Pam Trvdik's team (P Squared), which raised over $10,000 - one fifth of the $50,000 raised by all teams combined in this Omaha walk.

Sean's good friend from high school, Pat Trvdik, was diagnosed over a year ago with ALS. He is such a great guy. He was recently medically discharged from the Army at the rank of Major. He served in Iraq. He ran the ROTC program at Creighton prior to that. He is a graduate of Benedictine college and has great wife, Pam, who hails from Mississippi. They are great people with great friends and family. We will continue to pray for them.

Enjoy these photos from the walk. We had a great turnout, great weather, and a great time. Thank you again to all who donated. If you haven't yet, and would like to - here is a link to do so online http://web.alsa.org/site/TR/Walks/KeithWorthingtonWalk?px=1950250&pg=personal&fr_id=3987

back to school

Today was Maeve's first day of 2nd grade at St Roberts! She is in Mrs. Kinney's room (the Laura Bush look-alike in the photos!). She was really excited to get back and see her friends again - though not super excited to start getting up so early in the morning again! Here are some photos of her at home and at school.

he ain't heavy...he's my brother

Thought this little brotherly-sisterly love wrestling match at my parents' house was worth a post. :o) They are sure going to miss spending all day every day together when school starts back up for Maeve this week!

goin back to lincoln, to lincoln, to lincoln...

Another trip to Lincoln to see family visiting from out of town again this weekend! This time it was my dad's sister, Cathy (above with my dad and their mom), visiting from Phoenix! The kids never miss an opportunity to entertain us all! :)

more birthday fun

Summer is a very busy birthday month for us it seems! Last night we headed to Lincoln to celebrate Johnny and Karen's birthdays (my brother and his wife).

Had to share some fun pics! Maeve and her cousin Natalie with my cousin Emily (and Fletcher joined them for a photo too!) - my nephew Clayton with the two front teeth proudly missing - Fletcher - and I especially love the ones of my parents with their moms ;)

our new "nephew" :)

During our trip to Lincoln we also got to visit the latest addition to our family, Boji Bear Haney - that cutey puppy you see above. Had to give him a post because he's so gosh darned adorable :)

laughs in lincoln

The kids and I headed to Lincoln for dinner with the family last night to see my cousin Emily (in the picture with my mom and Fletcher) visting from Portland. Valentino's buffet is enough to put anyone in a festive mood! :)

Also posing in this post, is Maeve with her new American Girl doll - Julie Albright. Sean and I agreed she could only have one if she saved her own money and bought it herself, so she did - and she is having a BALL playing with her! Maeve's going to be pretty sad when she has to actually go back to school on the 20th - she's loving the lazy life at home this summer!

Fletcher's picture - well, need I say more? - is classic Fletch! He's not super excited about starting preschool in a few weeks - but we're pumping it up for him all we can. I know he'll love it once he's there.

icing on the cake!

On Maeve's actual birthday we went to dinner at the restaurant of her choice, Ruby Tuesdays, and the kids hammed it up as usual :)
